Iowa State Fair

On Friday Night, Crystal and I had a great time together at the Iowa State Fair. We haven't had much alone time together and this was what we needed. We wanted to try so many different kinds of food, but there was so much to choose from.

Then I saw the Fair Fries. I am not talking about the big fat ones, I am talking about the skinny flat ones that have like 4000 calories per fri. We bought them and then I introduced Crystal to a special kind of liquid to put on them. VINEGAR!!!!!!

She was a little worried how this would taste, but once she tasted it, she was attached!!

We looked at the big fat bull that weighs 3,200lbs, pigs that weigh 3,000lbs. It was great!

We bought a jug of root beer, kissed under the stars and then went back and got more fries!!! :)This was one great night with my wife!!! I Love You Crystal!!!!!!!!

Grass

Why does grass grow so fast in Iowa. I was so excited to have a big yard when we first bought our house, but now I am rethinking that decision. I spent 4 hours yesterday mowing grass and trying to fix my fence from the flood waters.

Ok ok, I will say that I am happy with my new riding lawn mower. My freind Chris Donahue gave it to me. Nice Guy! For about 4 months i was using 3 different push mowers. I say 3 because, well it was 3. One would work for 35 minutes, the next 15 minutes, then the next about 6 minutes, then I would go back to the fist one for that last 2 hours. Weird!!!

Pizza to Jesus

Last night was an interesting night. It started off by going to Josh Hall's football game in Ankeny. Then after that, me and some of the teens all went out to eat. We began talking about spiritual things, mostly topics out of Revelation. It seems every teen likes to talk about that.

Fazoli's was closing, so we left and went to my house. It was me, Andre, Madi P, Geena P and Sydney H. They all wanted to continue talking about spiritual things.

It was about 10:15p.m. and asked one of the girls if she was a Christian. She paused, then responded with"I don't know for sure." I told the teens to follow me into the other room as I continued to draw and illustration on our white board. It was showing how we are separated from God. Nothing can get us to him, not our good works, money, friends, family. It is only through Jesus that we can have relationship with God.

I asked her if she has ever made that commitment to Jesus. She said "She doesn't think so" I asked her what she wants to do about it, she responded "Fix it", I asked "When?"

She said, "Right Now!"

We went into the other room and we opened up the Bible and read scripture (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 10:9-10, 2 Corinthians 5:17) and then she asked Jesus for forgiveness!!!!!!! To be set free, she began her relationship with Jesus last night at 11:35p.m.

WOW. I didn't see the night going that way! Its great to see God work!

Crazy Love

We began a Dude Bible Study on Monday Night. We watched the movie "To Save a Life." I believe this movie has alot of motivation in it. It is a great movie and I believe it challenged the guys.

We will be going through the book "Crazy Love" for the next 10 weeks. I believe that God is going to do great things.
